How to get tech support.

Having trouble with Calendar+? Check the FAQ's, and if that doesn't work, feel free to drop us a line. If you're having trouble with mail getting through to our support line, or you don't receive a timely response (which could be my laziness, but it could also indicate a mail server problem), please send again. I've retired the support forum due to the thousands of spam mesages in there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Calendar+ was running fine. Now it shows an error saying, "The parameter is incorrect". What happened?

This is a known issue in Calendar+ that showed up when the daylight savings time changes for Windows Mobile 5 were deployed by Microsoft. It happens on Windows Mobile 6 too. Under the covers, Windows Mobile has told Calendar+ there is an appointment at a particular time, but when Calendar+ asks for details, Windows Mobile says, "what appointment?" The problem will clear itself when the problemmatic appointment passes.

I've installed Calendar+, but nothing happened. Where is the program?

Calendar+ is designed to integrate seamlessly with your Today screen. So seamlessly, in fact, that often people don't realize that it is running. Tap Start->Today to view the today screen. After installation Calendar+ will take the place of th existing Calendar today plug-in and use the same options. Tap and hold on the calendar image on the Today screen and choose Options. This will allow you to configure Calendar+. Alternately, you may also tap Start->Settings->Today->Items.

Why is there a number after a recurring event?

This number is the number of years the appointment has been recurring. The Pocket PC doesn't have direct support for identifying appointments like birthdays and anniversaries so Calendar+ tries to infer them by looking at the appointment. If an appointment recurs once a year, is an all-day event that is marked as "free", and has been recurring for more than one year Calendar+ will display the number of years after the appointment title.

Calendar+ 2.1 won't install. What is the problem?

There was a bug in the 2.1 installer that would cause installation failures on fresh installs. If you were upgrading from a previous version you did not see this. The bug has been corrected in the latest version 2.1.1. Please try downloading again.

Calendar+ doesn't seem to work right on Windows Mobile 2003 SE. Is this known?

Calendar+ version 2.2.0 has full support for Windows Mobile 2003 SE. If you are running a previous version of Calendar+ you should upgrade to this new version.

I get an error when I try to upgrade Calendar+. What's going on?

The PocketPC today screen grabs hold of Calendar+ and doesn't like to let go. You should try uninstalling your existing version of Calendar+ first. Once the old version is uninstalled the new version will install correctly.

Calendar+ performs very slowly on my Windows Mobile 5 device. Is this known?

Yes. Calendar+ uses Microsoft's recommended interface to communicate with your calendar information. This interface appears to be many times slower on Windows Mobile 5 than it is for Windows Mobile 2003. We will have a fix for this as soon as possible.
